Hey there, I’m Scott.

Most recently, I was Director of Experience Strategy at Cencora (a Fortune 10 pharmaceutical distributor), where I built and led a design and research team supporting an innovation organization. I established design operations standards, championed AI prototyping tools and experimentation capabilities, and directed strategic discovery efforts and product design for new products.

Before Cencora, I spent several years at Oracle Health (formerly Cerner). I led the company's design sprint program, designed products in a number of specialties like oncology and ophthalmology, and led mobile design for appointment scheduling serving 17+ million veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. I even spent some time as a product manager…enough time to know what I truly enjoyed was design and building teams.

Earlier in my career, I had a number of startup experiences in vastly different industries, including GIS, streaming media, and professional sports CRM and fan engagement. The media company I co-founded, and during that time I designed one of the first mobile apps for podcast streaming. We were unfortunately probably 5 years too early and couldn’t stick with it due to funding realities. After that, I worked at FanThreeSixty building mobile and web apps used by professional and NCAA sports teams.

My path to design wasn't linear. I started college thinking I'd be a rock drummer, ended up in marketing and business, and taught myself design during my startup experiences. I learned by doing—building products, figuring out branding, shipping things and seeing what worked. I’m glad my journey wasn’t linear. My skills and experiences outside of design have made me considerably more well-rounded and capable as a business leader.

Outside of work, I can’t sit still. I race cyclocross and mountain bikes, do woodworking, play drums, go to concerts, and visit national parks. Being fully remote allows me to split my time between Kansas City and Knoxville.
